Newcastle’s The Hunter Academy of Sport BMX Talent Development Squad has big dreams of competing in the North Island Titles in New Zealand this October. In order to reach their goal, the squad recently held a private raffle during a two-day BMX event.
The Hunter Academy of Sport, an organisation that aims to provide an environment to develop upcoming sporting talent in the Hunter Region, decided to use TicketRiver for their raffle tickets. “We sold tickets individually and at a large BMX event in three club open meetings, face to face, word of mouth and social networking,” said Karyne Humphris, program coordinator for the program. “Face to face and word of mouth worked best.”
Everything went well for the development squad’s raffle. “Yes, we met our goal,” said Humphris. “The raffle was drawn at a two day BMX event and waswon by three BMX families. This was wonderful as they were all there on the day of the raffle.”
If others want to hold their own raffle, Humphris said to make sure stay organized. “The planning was hard, it pays to have lots of help and keep good records of what is happening,” Humphris said.
