Lucas’ First Album, Anthony Lucas: My Music, My Experience, Kicks Off Australia-Wide Tour

The 25th of January was the night of Anthony Lucas’ launch of his first album, Anthony Lucas: My Music My Experience. The event, which took place in Casablanca in Shepparton, Victoria, featured guest artists from all across Australia along with promoting Lucas’ musical career and the album, which was released in September 2013. The concert is part of Lucas’ Australia-wide CD tour launch.

The launch party is a culmination of a whirlwind year for Lucas. On the 12th of April, 2013, Lucas performed his own concert, which entertained an audience of 90 people for three hours. According to Lucas’ website, the concert was something he had been working on for three months, and the hard work paid off; two days after his concert, a journalist from the Tatura Guardian contacted Lucas about his concert, leading to local and national fame. Throughout 2013, Lucas has been busy with concerts, performances around Victoria and New South Wales, making YouTube videos, writing songs, and visiting sound stages and studios around Melbourne.

Before the days of Anthony Lucas: My Music, My Experience, Lucas was part of the 2012 musical theater production The Drowsy Chaperone. He appeared in the ensemble and was also the understudy for the role of Barry the Monkey and Joseph the Butler. Anthony also performed in Melbourne’s The Calabria Club for an Italian dinner and dance night. Lucas also performed at March 2013’s Murchison Tomato Festa with his comedian cousin Gabriel Rossi, to an audience of 10,000 people from all across Australia. Lucas has also competed in Mulwala’s Got Talent and Rich River Idol.

The concert itself was amazing. “The concert went really well!” said Lucas. “We only had 6 tickets left until sell out!” There was a “great turnout,” said Lucas, with an audience of 94 people. Fans were able to learn more about the event from Lucas’ website as well as from notices in newspapers.

If you’re planning your own event like Lucas’, he said to take long enough to plan. “Take time to organise the right venue!” he said. “Order a good amount of tickets so you can save disappointment if you have too many or too less.”

You can learn more about Lucas and his career, as well as buy merchandise such as his album at his website.
